Sort Works: Nuts and Order is a sorting game in the hardware subcategory. The player helps a young woman sort colorful painted nuts across steel bolts on wooden shelves in different locations across hundreds of levels. They also attempt to earn as many coins, stars, gems, hearts and other rewards as possible.
The player starts in a workshop. They use their star winnings over time to unlock more than 28 other location backdrops, including a backyard, a garage, a library, an art studio, an office, a toy room, a train station, a clock tower, a museum, a mountain cabin and an underwater dome.
Sort Works: Nuts and Order features standard sorting requirements. The player receives stacks of mixed-color nuts on bolts. They must create one-color stacks.
Typically, the game provides at least one empty bolt. If the player runs out of space, the game offers them the opportunity to add a bolt with an ad view. Otherwise, they perform their task by placing a nut or color-matched mini stack of nuts on a space above a matching nut. After they play some levels, the game offers them boosters to undo moves and shuffle the nuts within stacks.
The game eventually gives the player access to daily goal missions and associated rewards. The player also receives a level mastery challenge that provides them with gifts.
